Eric -- you are right about the prairies. My favourite joke about the prairies was from Corner Gas when Hank dismissed a Dog River visitor's comment about Saskatchewan being flat. "It's not flat. There's just nothing to get in the way of the view." Mandaumin is kind of like that.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07917230984518214781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3680264279342137192.post-84378627439981788752014-01-02T21:52:24.976-05:002014-01-02T21:52:24.976-05:00Great light - now if that stupid post wasn't t...Great light - now if that stupid post wasn't there... :)

I really like the "whole train" view.Canadian Train Geekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05525092107895665275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3680264279342137192.post-85380304887077444272014-01-02T21:07:15.206-05:002014-01-02T21:07:15.206-05:00I was maudlin as I mulled musingly that I hadn'...I was maudlin as I mulled musingly that I hadn't heard of Mandaumin, Michael. Muddling up Moose Jaw, Moosomin and Mantario, maybe. I thought of taking up the mandolin.

Seriously, thanks for posting this, especially highlighting the flatness of the land there. One thing I enjoy about the Prairies is the flatness - photograph an entire train at once:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kawpWTOGqPk/S1ZY-q6P-LI/AAAAAAAABsE/KhNqsQ7ycd8/s1600-h/BLOGCPBALLAST7.jpg

They say that it's so flat in Saskatchewan - to see the whole province, stand on a chair :)

Thanks for starting 2014 off with a brightly-lit railfan hit!
Eric
Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11822288099043790296noreply@blogger.com
